Where's The Exit? is built by a solo indie developer in the UK - not a studio, not a publisher, just one person designing levels, writing code, editing audio loops, editing demo videos, making screenshots, and trying to make something fun enough that people will enjoy (hopefully).

The project

This game has been a labour of love: 3D mazes, themes, jokes, and mechanics that grew out of evenings and weekends. The idea was conceived several years ago, and it took a few false starts to really get it working. It was also quite surprising how much work it was when doing this solo. Much more than I would have expected, had I thought about it beforehand (which I didn't, I just started coding in typical naive dev style). Lots of new skills had to be learned, some were fun but some not so much (e.g. wrangling Google and Apple's store interfaces and policies). There's no big marketing budget here - word of mouth, store listings, and this little site are how people find it.

Even though I've been a developer for, well, a long time, this is my first solo game, and it's been a real learning curve. Fortunately, I've been able to use AI to help me out a lot, so a big thank you to Cursor, Claude and Gemini (Lyria), and also much love to ThreeJS and CapacitorJS.

Why supporting it helps indies

Indie games rarely have the safety net of a company salary (and definitely not this one), so please leave a kind review if you like it. You are not just supporting this title, you are supporting the idea that small, weird, personal games deserve to exist. And of course, the more we see people liking the game, the more blood, sweat and love we'll put into it.
